I also have hand-eye coordination problems.

I use S-video out to connect the 811 to a PVR 250 running Sage TV. My problem is recording/viewing on the 250. I cannot select a channel on the 250, only through the 811. When I had cable, I ran the coax right to the 250 through a splitter, and everything worked fine. Now, no matter what channel I select with Sage, only the channel selected on the 811 will play. All the detailed info for the Sage selected channel comes up, but I still get the picture from the channel on the 811.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim S.

This is because with analog cable all channels are coming through the cable all the time. Your 'tuner' picks one to display. This is why splitting the signal lets independent devices see different channels.

With satellite the box can only decode one channel at a time and output it. if you want two signalls you need a dual tuner satellite receiver (will have two feeds coming in from the dish).

Well,

The 811 has powers to control other equipment. If you can manually record someting on the sage, the 811 can tell it to start and stop. Basically treat it like an old VCR. It will send the IR signal to start and then to stop. This of course assuming it has the device codes for the sage.
