I have a Dish 500 aimed at 101 and 119 with sig over 95 on both and a Dish 300 aimed at 65 (or whatever) also with sig over 90. Can I add a round dish aimed at DTV 110 and use two splitters from the 119 Dual LNB to the sw64 dish switch and the 4/4 DirectTV switch (Timmerman's 8A diagram) and get both DirectV and Dish? I assume that I would not have to reaim the Dish 500. Is anyone using this setup?

i'm assuming you are referring to this diagram at the bottom: http://www.geocities.com/dbs_tech/dishes/dsa8900e.htm

all this can work as long as your dish 500 isn't using a twin lnb ( meaning one lnb that already combines the 110 and 119, than can run to two receivers. almost like a dual lnb with a built-in sw21)

your dish 500 should be pointed at the 119 and 110 ( nothing on dish at 101). so you can point another 18" dish to the 101 (DTV) and run one line from the 119 and combine the signal with a 22kz switch. Then run the other 119 feed, combine with the 110 with a sw42, and then combine the 61.5 sat with a sw 21 ( note: can combine all three with one sw64).

this might be better for signal strength rather than using the dtv elip dish if the amount of dishes at your home is not a factor.

I'm talking about using the 8a wiring. I have 2 dual LNBs on the Dish 500, 110 and 119 with an sw64 combining these with the Dish 300 HD signal. I want to use two sat splitters and feed the 119 LNB to the Sw64 and the DTV 22khz 4/4 switch. Yes this will make my house look like Comsat III with the three dishes, but they are fairly well hidden on the side of the house. Can I get the DTV 119 also without moving the current aiming of the Dish500?

this sounds to me that you would need to get an eliptical dish because i think your 500 dish has a dish switch in it therefore making it incompatible with directv receivers.

Otherwise, other than the switch you're good to go with the posts above.

You can use your existing Dish 500 for 110/119 (if it has dual output LNBs) plus a new dish for 101 as a substitute for the elliptical dish. The physical arrangement of dishes is not important - I use four 18" dishes (61.5,101,110,119) to test the various multi-dish switch configurations.
