The answer to the question is: NOT AT THE SAME TIME. As Dagman pointed out, you can use one or the other.

Yes, and I do exactly that. I hooked up the composite video & L/R audio to a long cable that runs in my crawl space and comes out near my old NTSC TV in my bedroom. If I want to finish watching some late show in bed, I just switch it over to "SD" instead of "HD", bring the UHF remote with me, and then turn on the bedroom TV. That UHF remote is great. You can purchase additional ones if you don't want to carry it around from room to room.

If you want to use a coax (channel 3 or 4) you will have to buy an RF modulator (say from Radio Shack). Otherwise the NTSC outputs will work fine.
