dish network dishplayer 921 deals?

Does Dish network lease their hd dvr box like they do their other equipment? or if not has anyone been able to get a good deal on it through dish? It would seem to me now that comcast in my area offers an hd dvr box for rental for only $10/month vs. their $999 price tag I could use that as leverage to get dishnetwork to give me a good price on theirs or I threaten to cancel.

No its not part of a deal or lease. They also do not sell it directly from Dish, so I doubt they'd offer you one if you threaten them.
