I have a Dish 722 DVR. It works fine, we like it. This box says it needs to be connected to a telephone line, which is a little inconvenient with my room (there is no jack near my tv). So my fix is I run a 25 foot telco line across my living room floor to the jack. I'd prefer not to leave this wire all the time.


Is there any way to predict when or how often the 722 will dial out?


My old Replay could be triggered to dial out when you told it to, but this one doesn't seem to have that feature. BTW: I never use pay per view.

Thank you for the advice. The manual says "scheduling updates" and the tech support person at Dish told me those updates come over the SAT, it wasn't clear to me when the dial up part happened. I wonder if it dials up every day or just once a week???
