I think this is interesting as a proof of concept. I know Redbox has been investigating using flash memory as a distribution tool.

Walt Disney and Panasonic are partnering to sell pics on SD cards in Japan, Disney announced on Wednesday.
Starting in November, Disney will release pics on Panasonic-produced SD cards at the same time it bows them on DVD. Users will be able to see the pics on their one segment standard cell phones or on car navigation systems.
The cards, at $53 apiece, will be priced higher than DVDs and come with copyguard protection.
Among the first titles will the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series.
