Sebastian Stan Addresses Those Luke Skywalker Rumors On ‘Good Morning America’

Star Wars fans have long been wondering just who will pick up the role of young Luke Skywalker in future Star Wars films and TV. Sebastian Stan has been prominently mentioned as a likely candidate.

In a recent Good Morning America interview (see the specifics at 2:50 on the video), the 38-year old star of Falcon and The Winter Soldier was cagey. He said he wants to make sure he has Hamill’s blessings before he’ll consider stepping in.

“People are wondering about you perhaps playing a young Luke Skywalker,” mused cohost Robin Roberts. “Even Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker himself, has tweeted his support.”

Stan came back quickly.

“Well, if Mark Hamill calls me personally to tell me that he feels inclined to share this role with me, then I’ll believe it,” he said. “Until then, I won’t believe it.”

Hamill has already voiced his support online. In a 2017 tweet, he posted a headshot of Stannext to a still of himself taken from the 1993 film Time Runner. It was a remarkable match.

In 2018, Hamill followed up in reply to a fan’s query on Stan.

“Sebastian doesn’t need my stamp of approval!” he wrote. “He’s a wonderful actor & is never less than great in everything he does.”

Marvel fan breaks Guinness World Record after watching Avengers: Endgame 191 times in theaters

By Rachel Yang

There are regular Marvel fans, and then there's this Florida man who watched Avengers: Endgame 191 times.

Ramiro Alanis broke the Guinness World Record for the most cinema productions attended of the same film, after screening the Marvel movie an insane number of times in theaters.

"I'm Officially Amazing!!!" he tweeted March 16, referencing GWR's slogan.

By June 14, 2019, Alanis had reached 116 viewings — or the equivalent of over 40 workdays watching the film — all while working as a supervisor at his family's construction business. At the time, he even told a local outlet his goal was to hit 200.

Previously, the record was held by YouTuber NemRaps, who watched Avengers: Infinity War 103 times and inspired Alanis to surpass that feat.

"I had bought tickets to watch it five times on the opening weekend so I wouldn't miss a thing," he told CNN. "Then, I started going every single day, posting my rounds or views because I really love the film."

He added, "After seeing how Endgame was shattering records and making history, I decided to do it too."

Following its April 26, 2019 debut, Endgame became the highest-grossing film of all time, until Avatar reclaimed the title earlier this month when it was re-released in China.

So just how long would it take to watch Endgame 191 times? With a run-time of 181 minutes, Alanis spent 576 hours, or 24 full days, watching the film. Given the time commitment, Alanis admitted he did have to give up a few things to set the record.

"The most difficult part about this attempt was giving up my social life with my family, the gym (I lost 16 pounds of muscle), and managing my work hours and screening times at the theaters," he said.

And for those who are now motivated to try the same thing, Alanis has some advice: "Plan accordingly to your record attempt and prepare yourself as much as you can, physically and mentally, all things are possible."

Disney+ And ESPN+ Launch On Comcast Xfinity X1 And Flex
By Dade Hayes

In a significant new integration, Comcast has added Disney+ and ESPN+ to its Xfinity pay-TV and broadband services.

The two streaming services will be part of the main user interface for X1 TV customers as well as on the Flex broadband video package.

As streaming has matured in recent years, Comcast has adopted a friendlier stance to third-party programmers compared with many operators. Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video have all been integrated into Xfinity platforms. More recent entrants like HBO Max and the company’s own Peacock streaming service have also joined the fold. The strategy holds that reducing friction in customers’ experience will keep them more engaged with Xfinity and Flex, boosting results for Comcast at a time of intensifying cord-shaving and cord-cutting.

What’s Coming to Disney Plus in April 2021

By Antonio Ferme

From obscure “Star Wars” content to ongoing Marvel series to nature documentaries, Disney Plus’s April slate expands their ever-growing library of new and original content.

Disney Plus is bolstering their “Star Wars” collection by adding some less familiar content from the franchise. Both volumes of “Star Wars: Clone Wars” will be available on April 2, which is a 2D animated series from “Samurai Jack” creator Genndy Tartakovsky. For viewers that want to see more of Endor’s furry little creatures after watching “Return of the Jedi,” the films “Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure,” “Ewoks: The Battle for Endor” and both seasons on “Star Wars: Ewoks” will be available to stream. While Disney Plus won’t have “The Star Wars Holiday Special” in its entirety, viewers will be able to stream the 10-minute segment “The Story of the Faithful Wookie,” which introduced the world to Boba Fett.

Starting on April 2, Disney Plus will air the final four episodes of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” After the limited series concludes, “Assembled: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” will premiere at the end of the month. New episodes of “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” will continue to air weekly, while the final two episodes of “Secrets Of Sulphur Springs” will be available to stream.

The new documentary “Secrets of the Whales” will begin streaming on Earth Day. Narrated by Sigourney Weaver, the National Geographic film will plunge viewers deep within the epicenter of whale culture to experience the extraordinary communication skills and intricate social structures of five different whale species: orcas, humpbacks, belugas, narwhals and sperm whales. Disney Plus is also adding more family films from the old 20th Century Fox library, including the first two “Night at the Museum” movies.
