display sony vaio to sony kdf e55 a20

hello, im not sure if this is the right forum but im trying to figure out the cheapest way to connect my sony vgn nr385e laptop to display on my sony kdf e55a20. i have a vga to s-video/rca adapter but cant get that to work.
