Distortion in files recorded with VirtualDVHS?

310 Views 6 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  MickeyDora
I just got my SA 8300HD hooked up to my iMac core duo with Virtual DVHS and all of the files I record are all screwed up. Video and audio are distorted. I'm saving to my internal HD and tried playing back with VLC and Mplayer OSX 2.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Also... I can only record HD from my 8300. When I am playing SD I don't get any data through firewire connection. Is this normal?

Thanks for any help. This forum is awesome... been reading nonstop for hours now :)

That could be one of two things...either its macroblocking on the mpeg2 stream from either a bad signal or the hard drive can't keep up with the bandwidth needed to record.

You will need to give us more details about your set-up...ie, type of drive.
