Hello all,

I made a screen out of canvas. I have painted it a very light grey and wanted to know if anyone here who has painted a screen used any type of overcoating to protect the paint? These are clear and available as a matte finish.

Please tell me more about your screen. How are you hanging the canvas on the wall? I'm going to go buy some artist canvas tomorrow and paint it gray. I've got several schemes for hanging it with the current one being gluing it to 1/8" plywood and then use those things used to hang mirrors on the wall.

I haddn't thought about top coats, but I have thought a lot about Goo.

I have a black metal entertainment center where my tv and equipment is. so i used a couple pieces of black steel wire and wraped it around the tubing on the entertainment center. Barley noticeable. On the back of the screen i used two of those mirror hooks (for lack of a better term). I just hang it on there like a picture. Works well.

I do not know about gluing it to anything because i built a frame then streched and stapled the canvas to the back of it. Very simple.
