I need to place my screen on rollers so i can slide it out of the way. The reason being is there is a window behind where the screen will be. I do not want to permanently block the window so i need the screen to roll or slide about 3 feet to the right. Has anyone done this? If yes, what type of hardware did you use? I was thinking of attaching the slide mechanism to the ceiling.

I attached an image of my DIY Screen.

Thanks for the help

I would look into using the hardware used for pocket doors, since they're hung at the top and slide about 3'.

You could probably get creative with drawer slides too. ;) This could allow it to be actually attached at both the top and bottom to the wall next to the window, meaning it won't waver at all with a light breeze, sound, whatever.

You can buy garage door track also and a couple wheels and assemble to any amount of movement you like...

Some folks have finished the backside and made it hinge up flat against the ceiling also... Just an option.
