Is this what you folks are using? I have found stretcher bars for around $5-30 a piece (obviously you need 4). Is that the cheapest around? I mean, has anyone successfully used the cheaper $5 stretcher bars for something this big? (68x38 in my case)

Then the fabric runs around $10-20 depending on what you buy, and then you just stretch and staple! (Or have the art store do it for <$50 labor) Last question, how hard is it to stretch your own?

That works. Keep in mind that canvas has texture that is visible when one projects. A very uniform coat or coats of paint will help fix this. It is difficult to do this with sufficient uniformity and a good sprayer may work better.

I use stretcher bars for a frame and vinyl-backed gray cloth for the screen.

Pure vinyl(no texture) works better but I haven't found it in the proper gray.
