I am looking at setting up some planar speaker(s) for my center channel and would love to place them behind the screen. I hear this is good sonically but that acoustically transparent screens are generally poor. Furthermore, I have not seen a DIY transparent screen.

Any suggestions on how to do this... and whether it is a road I want to travel? I will be using Magnepan MMG's I think (2) for the center channel to go with my MG IIIa's. In theory, I could loose the socks on the MMG's to compensate for the screen.

Thanks.

For DIY, I have seen white vinyl with perforations... depending on the distance from the screen (where you sit) I'd bet that the holes would be 100% invisible, yet be enough to let sound through.
