Hypothetical question for @mtg90 or @Erich H :

Considering how well the Eminence F110M-8 ring radiator compression driver works with the Beta-12CX allowing a relatively low ~1350 Hz crossover frequency for the Volt-12 would there be any value in converting the Volt-10 (and perhaps other Volts) from the current custom version of the CDX1-1446 with its 2000 Hz crossover point?

I notice at Parts Express the F110M-8 sells for $15 less than the CDX1-1446 so it seems there would be a cost saving. Would there be a performance improvement with the F110M-8 and lower crossover frequency that would justify a changeover or would any gain in performance not be worth the effort in redesigning the Volt-10 crossover?

If I remember right, mtg had a volt 12 design:

Uh, yeah, this is a Volt-12 thread that includes that link in the first post. :)

I could see some benefit for the Volt-10 but not as much for the 8 or 6.

I'm not sure Erich would like to revamp the designs as that means stocking all new compression drivers, crossover parts, possibly new PCBs. It would be pretty costly and time consuming to update all of them so I'm not sure it's worth it.
