I'm looking to upgrade my home theater receiver. So far i'm thinking about the Pioneer Elite VSX 31 ( http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ceivers/VSX-31 )


Just wanted some suggestions please as to why or why not to go with a DLNA unit. Thank you

DLNA does nearly nothing for you.

If you have your music on a computer dnla lets you see and play it if using the right music library server like Media player, TV versity or J river. Use it all the time playing my 500gig collection using j river. Media player library worked ok until my collection got to big and it started to choke on it.

If you want to play music through your stereo, from a computer, there are many solutions, some of which may work better than the builtin stuff on your receiver.


I never use the DLNA feature on my Z7, because I have better methods of playing music.
