DLP or SXRD

970 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Artwood
Hello all. I am new to this forum so I will keep this short and sweet. I am trying to decide between the Sony WEGA 60" 1080p Rear-Projection SXRD HDTV (KDS60A2020) or the Samsung 61" 1080p DLP HDTV (HL-S6187W). Any thoughts or opinions would be extremely helpful and appreciated. Thanks.

This is asked a lot since these are the 2 most popular displays -- the search function will answer a lot of your questions. Bottom line is that both technologies are excellent, and it just comes down to personal preference. Some see rainbows with DLP (but most do not); lack of color uniformity has been a problem with the Sony's. Go look at them in stores to see which is best for you (nobody can answer for you which you will like best). Last year, the SXRD came out on top of a Home Theater shoot-out; this year, Samsung came out on top. That tells me they are pretty close!
If you're not getting a Sony XBR SXRD then by all means go with the Samsung!
