so we decided to make a DLP 3D printer.

We did as much research as we could, chose a projector, it was working great curing the photosensitive resin really precisely and quickly but after about a month of use thin horizontal lines appeared in the white screen, they're quite wide apart and you can still see pictures in between them.

Then a dark mark appeared at the bottom of the screen. Within two weeks it grew so now it takes up nearly the whole screen in a semi ellipse shape. We can't find any problems along this line from the use as a DLP printer side so we were wondering if this is a failure that can happen in general, regardless of our adaptation (namely moving the colour wheel) and general abuse of the equipment.

Any ideas on what could have gone wrong would be great so we don't repeat our mistakes in the future.
