LCDs seem to have more dead/stuck pixels than DLP...in fact for the same resolution they are three times as likely as they have 3 times the number of panels.
The only DLPs that seem flakey at this time (within this price range) is the M20X that has a bulb start issue in power saver mode.
At the above 5K range the Marantz VP12S1 has this odd flicker problem and apparently more dead pixels than reported by Sharp and Runco owners. Very odd actually...dead pixels are in general very rare on DLP machines.
I don't think I've heard of a color wheel failure in this forum...there is the rainbow effect but that's an artifact of the technology...not a failure mode.
