Does anyone make a 1080p (or better) short throw (0.6-1) projector in the sub $1500 range?

any and ALL help is greatly appreciated...

According to projectorcentral, the Mitsubishi HC4000 is a short throw 1080p projector, but they don't have a functioning projection calculator for that model. You may want to check the Mitsubishi web site.

What's the image size you are trying to acheive.

And for throw distance you mean 0.6 - 1 meters right? From projector to screen right?

The Epson lower-end 1080P projectors (Home Cinema 6100, 8100, and probably the 8350) seem to have similar lenses to their higher-end counterparts (6500, 8500, etc.), and those models have probably the shortest throw of any home-theater projectors. I think the 8100 sells for less than US$1500.

No I mean throw ratio of .6-1 as in D/W...

I need to fill ~8 feet vertical (~240cm) at a max range of about 3 meters...

The Epson 8100 looks good but alas it would have to be 2.8m outside the room...

any other suggestions anyone?

Edit; the Mitsubishi HC4000 would have to bee about 5.8M from the target, so also unfortunately outside of the room....

So any other PJ 1080P with a short throw? All the info I find still make this thread seem up to date.

Just making sure I get the right PJ going for around 100" at 10 feet back.

Cheers

The Epson 8350 can throw a 240cm vertical image at 3.23m. At a 3m range, it will throw a 223cm vertical image (256cm diagonal).

Always wondered about that. I tried to use the search feature at PJ central but only 2 PJ show up if I asked for short throw.

Thanks for that.
