I finally ended my plasma search yesterday when I bought a Panny 42" TH-42PX25U. However, before buying the Panny I was strongly considering a 42" Sony XS910.
I had read previously that the ALiS plasmas could handle fast motion even better than a normal plasma and that attracted me to the Sony XS910. However, this weekend I had a change to view some HD sports content at 2 different stores on the Sony and both times I noticed what apeared to be "vertical banding" with fast pans. I saw it at one store and thought it must have been a bad feed. Then, at a different store I saw the same exact thing. Is this a known issue with ALiS plasmas? I have never seen it mentioned before.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me now but I was simply curious to hear if there is an explanation for this problem? I certainly didn't see it on the Panny I bought.
