Do any DVRs accept firewire signal from STB?

I know they can't record HD, but I want to know if any models will convert and record the HD signal via firewire onto DVD with better PQ than S-Video.

The Sharp 300u had a firewire input. (i.Link (IEEE 1394) video input )

The article in Sound and Vision said it also accepted input from PC, in addition to camcorders.

Is that what you are looking for?

Current DVD recorders cannot record HD signal even if you use firewire port. HD signal will be downconverted to non-HD format.

If you want to record HDTV, then you should go with D-VHS video deck with firewire.
Philips DVDR75 has firewire.

Sony mini-DV cam looks great fed in through Firewire, I would assume a STB would give you a great image as well, probably at least as good as S-video, probably better.
