Hi,


I really want a htpc, but i am not sure whether it will benefit me? only want to get a better picture (i think i can only improve DVD picture?).

My current system setup are.


Infocus lp340 projector (800x600 native resolution) to a 8 foot screen.

Hitachi 53" HDTV

toshiba sd9100 DVD player(S-video to projector, component video to TV)

and dish 6000 set top box.(VGA to projector, component video to TV)


Please adive me should i get a htpc. thanks for your input.

Chan: conventional wisdom is that an HTPC benefits Front Projectors most, but the benefits are relative to the quality of scaler in your projector. I'm not sure how good or bad it is, so it is difficult to make a judgement. But most likely an HTPC would benefit a DVD configuration.


As for your HDTV, I would guess that an HTPC would help a little, but not too much.
