Just wondering if i need a native 720p set if i want to use my HTPC for games? The set i'm currently looking at is the Tosh 42H81, but now i'm having second thoughts about buying it because it doesn't support 720p.

I agree with Iread. I have a 720p set and it is nice for the tv shows that broadcast in 720p, but if your interest is games, I wouldn't think there would be any need for 720p.

Hmm i don't really understand how SVGA resolutions work on HDTV. Confuses the hell out of me.

If I could have a native 720 set I would. The reason is that, with my Mitsubishi I am limited to 540P. Some games have minimmum resolutions of 800x600 and I can't play them on that computer because the only way is by letterboxing them into an interlaced resolution and then I cant read the menus.


If I am missing something here someone please explain as I would love to be able to play these games.
