I have a Pioneer 532HD. I have had the set for about a year now. I was recently trying to do the 72 point convergence on it, but the reds and blues seem to be playing peek-a-boo with me. It didn't do this when I first got the set and did the original convergence. It's making it really difficult to adjust properly.

Do you think a voltage regulator will help with these fluctuations? Or does this mean my power supply may be going bad? I am using a Monster Surge Protector which is also a year old.

Thanks in advance.

Unless your line voltage is completely out of spec, a voltage regulator would be a waste of money. The best way to check the power supply is to plug an iron into the same circuit as the projector. Turn the iron on and off and see how it affects the picture. If nothing happens, your power supply is regulating fine. Don't plug the iron into the surge suppressor. You may also want to eliminate the surge suppressor to see if that makes the problem go away.
