I am purchasing a pair of BG Radia 520i speakers that I will be picking up this Friday. I currently have a much smaller BG Z7 speaker set. I am also upgrading my receiver at the same time from a Yamaha RX-V3300 to a Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH. The Elite 94 has 140W at 8 ohm and I have no idea what it rates at 6 ohms. The Radia 520's literature states 4 ohm (8 ohm compatible). BG says they are 4 ohm speakers but are strong enough not to be damaged by 6 ohm receivers. My Yamaha has a 4 ohm switch, the Pioneer does not. I heard these speakers are inefficient and extremely power hungry. SO..... will my receiver have enough power or will I need to buy a separate amp? If I need an amp, what should I look for? I would need to keep it affordable. ROTEL? PARASOUND? Let me know! Thanks!!
