A little confused. I'm upgrading my CRT projector to a NEC XG-135. The major use source device will be a DVD jukebox which I will also purchase. If I buy the new Kenwod with prog. output, do I still need to use an HTPC as a scaler?
Depends on what resolution you want to display DVD's at. Many people like to scale DVD playback to match the "sweet spot" of the CRT PJ. You can get a much smoother picture doing so. I have no idea what the optimum display resolution of your PJ is. I'm sure it higher than 848X480 though. I'm sure the guys in the CRT forum could help you.
