No--shielding is really for CRT-based displays (the shielding is to keep the speaker's magnetic field from interfering with the CRT/yoke assembly), unless there is something funky in the LCD projector that I'm not aware of.
As an aside, be really careful where you put your center channel speaker--unless it's really light (or your projector cabinet is really solid), I'd avoid putting it on top of your RPTV...I have seen numerous setups where the speaker has literally bowed the top of the cabinet, wreaking havoc on the screen below. I have a friend who basically ruined an older 61" Sony RPTV by keeping his DVD player, receiver, VCR and center speaker on top of the RPTV cabinet...it now looks like a sagging suspension bridge!
