In reading about some of the new 1080p sets with lip synch issues of one kind or another and the suggested solution of using a delay device or a A/V receiver with audio delay function, it got me thinking about the audio delay in my Iscan HD+.

Do these audio delay devices affect sound quality? Is this one of those things where it may affect some and not others and basically you have to find out for yourself??

If you have to ask, then it's probably not something you'd notice (unless it was done horribly, IE using like 741 chips)

DonoMan,

Sounds like you know something about audio delay.

How does an audio delay actually work?

I am something of a compulsive/obsessive when it comes to home theater and sooner or later will be trying to do a double blind test on this just to see.

'course a DSP works, too... But then if the signal isn't digital already, it'd have to go through an ADC and eventually a DAC, so that can lower quality as well.
