I am planning to buy one of the new DLP projectors--Sharp 9000 or whatever looks best in the coming months. My non-dedicated room has high ambient light. I'd like to paint a brick/stone/sky mural on the ceiling and walls, and use a light colored slanted fascia at the ceiling to disguise the speakers and drop-down greyhawk screen. My dealer said that the new DLP projectors don't need the area around the screen, such as the fascia, to be dark, because they have very little light spill: a 2" black border on the screen around the image is sufficient. Is the dealer correct, or will I regret my choices for murals and fascia?
