I'm putting speakers behind an SMX transparent screen. I'm thinking of covering the entire front wall, including speakers, with GOM to eliminate any glare coming back through the screen. Does adding a second layer of acoustically transparent fabric create a degree on non-transparency?

It will certainly change the transparency. I'd not recommend that in front of the speakers. If the idea is to kill reflections, I'd recommend maybe some black fabric covering the wall/treatments that are BEHIND the false wall and behind the speakers so the amount of light reflected prior to getting to the clothy is reduced.

Nothing is perfectly acoustically transparent. Each will affect some (mostly high) frequencies to some degree and using two will increase the effects. That said, it may not be significant, especially if you have some access to EQ.
