Do you have slow/jumpy rewind on your HD DVD player?

OK, it's not "rewind" per se, but "review" I guess. However, it seems that on certain material on my 360, review is pretty smooth while on other material it's slow and jumpy.

Do you have the same issues? My guess this is a 1st/2nd generation thing. As chips and players get faster, this will change. This is similar to my experience with DVD. Initial players (even so-called boutique ones) had terrible rewind smoothness. Nowadays with $29 players, rewind is smooth as silk.

I wonder how much of this is due to the codec. ie. MPEG2 vs. H.264 vs VC-1.

I'm thinking bitrate and complexity also matter.
No as slow as my vcr...
Smooth as silk is what the PS3 and the 360 does. My three stand alones are anything but silky smooth when using fast forward or rewind. This is one thing I hope they improve with the G3 players. Although G1 is defintely smoother than G2. If G3 is as smooth as G1 I will be happy, but even the G1 player I have isn't as smooth as my 360 or PS3.
