We are to the wiring phase and have cl-3 speaker in already, but am wondering if the other cables that will be run in walls need to be cl also. The s-video, component cables and composite cables are the ones I am not sure of.

Technically yes, any in-wall cable must be approved for that use. But some smaller city and county inspectors may not enforce it in residential construction for signal wiring.


Another alternative is to put the cable in conduit. Then it doesn't matter what rating it has. Some areas do not allow PVC conduit in walls, so check that before using PVC.
