I've been searching via yahoo, pricegrabber, shopper and various other .coms tonight trying to order a toslink cable that is at least 25ft in length. I've yet to find one.


My budget for this is quite low, so anything pumped full of ions and latinum coated will be out of my range I suspect. If anyone has some pointers on where to find such a beast for a reasonable price, I'd cetainly appreciate the knowledge.

You are in luck. Go to www.mcmelectronics.com and search on "toslink" I bought a 10-meter toslink cable from them for less than $20. Very high quality too, mcmelectronics sells to professional broadcasters and the like, so no silly cables, just high-grade professional gear.

I'm using a 55' Toslink cable which I purchased from Markertek.

I had to add a Toslink inline passive amplifier from Radio Shack (under $10, if I remember correctly) to boost the signal though.

Thanks to everyone here, I found just what I was looking for.

I went with www.mcmelectronics.com and had a 10M cable delivered to my door the next afternoon for $42.61 total.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy the 36' cable from audiovideomall http://www.vstore.com/cgi-bin/pagege...62&catID=16169 . Looks like a deal for 9.99... until you receive it and it's actually 36".
