As the other member has said, it depends on the model number of your sub.

To be safe, you can just get a 200-300 watt amp. I had a small Kenwood amp powering a single 10" sub and it sounded alright. Currently have a 1000 watt amp powering my JL subs.

You need a way to make connections to an amplifier to power your sub. To do this you will need the following:

1. You will need a headunit with preouts

2. If you do not have a headunit with preouts you have to buy a line out converter to connect an amp.

3. Buy an amplifier kit in accordance to the specs of your amplifier and subwoofer.
