I saw part of a showing of "Old School" (no digs please!) at a friend's house, and it was filling up his widescreen tv. IMDB lists this as 2.35 anamorphic, hence my question. And yes, I checked, my friend's tv was not set to zoom/stretch the picture.

ooo... since my post wasn't really helpful. I don't remember exactly, but I think the dvd was 1.85. Can't remember clearly though.

IMDB is a joke when it comes to that kind of information. Use Leonard Maltin's Movie guide. It lists which films are in scope.

For the most part they don't. Or at least, they never used to do it. I hope if LOTR: Two Towers is shown, they won't crop it. But I do believe Road to Perdition was 2.35:1 and they showed it filling the screen.

Dreamworks provided a Super35 transfer for some reason. We must hope that New Line does not do the same with TTT.

Is LOTR Two Towers cropped on E* HD PPV? I was thinking of ordering it tonight.

I tried to read the primary LOTR HD PPV thread and it was just two guys going at each others' throats, page after page. Just too painful to read...
