Hi,

This may seem like a odd question but here goes. A few months ago I was in a electronics store which had a Sony 10ht LCD projector on display. I don't know what the screen was but the bright areas of the picture had a sparkle look to them which was very distracting. This was definately the screen and not the projector. I am purchasing a Sony 10ht LCD projector with a Grayhawk screen. I was wondering if the Grayhawk exhibits this sparkle look or is the surface smooth?. Thanks.

The surface is not exactly smooth, the Greyhawk has an optical coating. However, the Greyhawk should not exhibit visible sparkling, especially not from viewing distances. If it does, send it back!

Don't know what you mean by "sparkle", but I can see on my Grayhawk some very "micro-stars" shining during bright scenes. This is dependent of seat position, not distance. Sometimes it's annoying so I need to move my head a few centimeters left or right.

Other than those very few "micro-stars", the Grayhawk has hotspot (really barely visible, but it's definitively there when compared with a flat white wall).

These issues don't bother me, the Grayhawk is an excellent screen otherwise.

I have a Sony 10HT.
