Does rainbow effect decrease with HTPC?

522 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Urbi
Hi everyone,

I've been told that, due to the higher refresh rate(75/85 hz...) of PC, DLP's rainbow effect is less noticeable when pj is fed with HTPC.

Is it true?

I see rainbow effect clearly (i saw it with Ls110), so I would move towards LCD if there weren't possibilies to reduce it.

Thanks,

Urbi

I am not sure but I believe the speed of the color wheel is what determines the degree of rainbow. Not sure if difference refresh changes the speed of the wheel.
Urbi,

cpc is correct - it's the speed of the color wheel that matters.

The projector converts the "refresh" rate of the signal to its own native refresh rate.

Ok!!

It sounded weird when I heard that...

Then, I will look for Epson TW100...
