If I do a lot of recording on a JVC 30K will it impact its playback ability, like clogging up the playback head?

Also, can dropouts be introduced while recording? Does the JVC 30K recording head suffer the same problems as the playback?

Thanks,

Matt

Same heads are used for both functions (record and playback). Playback places greater requirements on the heads than recording, but there are still limits to how bad the heads can be for recording.

Recordings made on a machine with worn/dirty heads are weaker and more difficult to read without errors. The combination of worn/dirty heads, and a poor section of tape can result in a recording that can't be read cleanly on even the best of machines.
