Regarding the "Gamma Correcter" in the User Menu on my Sony TV.

Does this affect grayscale? In other words, by changing the gamma setting do I get closer to or further away from the 6500K standard? Or does this setting not have any affect on the grayscale and color temp? Lastly, is the color temp setting the only user menu setting that affects grayscale?

Thanks!

Gamma affects grayscale. Just think of it as a mid level grayscale control. You have your cuts on the dark end ... your drivers on the bright end ... and the gamma in the mid range. A gamma control is particularly useful when your grayscale is humping or dipping in the middle.

Oh yes ... both brightness and contrast in the user menu also affect grayscale.
