Just wondering, I'm thinking of ordering the Panasonic today and DTV is sending out a Sat-C kit of the cost of shipping, so I just wanted to be compatible with it gets here.

bash...

I have the Panasonic and it worked fine with the Sat C kit from DirecTV. I opted for the free installation. It took the guy 15 minutes or so and I had Showtime in HD.

Paul,

When changing channels while not using the guide, about how long would you say it takes to get from one channel to the next? Thanks!

It's not quick. I don't think it would be practical to use as your primary tuner. I only use it to view HD. I use my TiVo for everything else. Also, the remote is probably the worst I have ever encountered with any piece of electronic gear. I got an MX-500 remote and it's much better.

Thanks Paul.

Based on your comments and that of others, the Panny would be my #1 choice given that all the bugs were worked out of it. However, considering it all, I decided to go with the Hughes at $499 including shipping.
