The Sanyo information on this is a little confusing the PDF that Sanyo has put out includes the phrase:

0.7" TFT Poly w/Micro Lens x3 (16:9)

It seems like if this projector had true MLA they would be bragging about it more.... or is this a "standard" feature on new LCD projectors.

I was also wondering if some could explain how MLA works - I know it is a micro lens aray - and that it helps to belnd pixels together to eliminate screendoor? Any more info?

Here is the link - the phrase is on the Spefications panel on the right - 4 down titled LCD Panel System.

Sanyo Z2 pdf

thanks for the help,

pat

I am not the expert on this, but I'll take a guess at it.

0.7" TFT Poly w/Micro Lens x3 (16:9)

The x3 probably means that there are three LCD chips each incorporating the Micro Lens. This is likely why the word 'Array' in Micro Lens Array is there.

Someone else correct me if I am wrong.

Per Epson (the panel supplier) the .7" HTPS LCP panels used in the Z2/AE500/and Epson TW200/500 are the L3D07H series panels. These do not feature micro lens arrays. The new L3D16U 1.65" 1920x1080 panels as shoen in the Epson RPTV at CES do feature MLA's.
