In two review sites that I've read, the reviewer alludes that the the Z3 auto iris is not a true auto iris. They seem to be saying that the iris stops down and up for different user and preset settings. A true auto iris is constantly making adjustments as scene lighting changes. So which is it? Does anyone know for sure? If it doesn't have an auto iris then how can this unit have anywhere close to 2000-1 CR.

EDIT: I should have read the Z3 thread completely. I guess the consensus is that the Z3 does not have a dynamic iris, just a variable one. The Sanyo PDF sure is misleading though. It borders on false advertising.

Quote: With its perfectly coordinated motorized iris and automatic lamp control, the PLV-Z3 ensures that brightness is adjusted to match the current image content.

"current image content"???? Sounds dynamic to me.
