Ok, there was a thread in the non DIY subwoofer forum debating if the ed a7s-450 and the cs 18.2 were the best deals on the market in terms of performance per dollar.
Someone had brought up doing a mal-x 18" as an alternative, so i was curious how it would compare up to the A7s-450, and also the a7s-650 DIY kit, as its about the same ballpark price range.
I pulled the driver files from this link:
http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...pro-files.html
Purple line is Mal-x 18" with 4.5ft^3 box and 2400w (EP2500 bridged into 4 ohms)
Green line is eD 190v2 with 4.5ft^3 box and 1300w (pulled internal volume from eD site for box size, matched the mal-x even though you want more like 5+ cubic ft for a malx 18")
Yellow line is Dual 13av2's in a sealed 3.6ft^3 box (also per eDs stats) with 1300 watts. Basically thought id throw an A7s-650 kit in there as you can get the kit for $1125 shipped and its in the ballpark of these other subs
@20hz:
Mal-x 18" - 111db @ 1m
190v2 18" - 107db @ 1m
Dual 13av2 13" - 106db @1m
