I think it's news to the vast majority that you don't even need them in your receiver to hear full TrueHD, etc. You let the player decode into LPCM and send to the (HDMI 1.1 is fine) receiver for D/A conversion. This isn't like the DD/DTS that we're all used to, requires different thinking.
In short, the ability to experience "HD" audio formats isn't a compelling reason to wait for an HDMI 1.3-equipped receiver.
