I received my LX-135 Grayhawk yesterday and am doing some measuring tonight (nice packing, BTW). We have an older house, and if I hung the screen absolutedly level, one side would be about 5/8" closer to the ceiling than the other. Would it be alright to correct for this, or am I risking wrinkling or other bad side effects by having it "not quite" level?

Thanks,

Jay,

While I'm guessing you must be using a digital projector since you purchased a GrayHawk screen, I would have to say that the screen should be as level as possible. Since your projector should be mounted level as well, this will make for perfect image alignment to the screen.

I doubt anyone will notice a 5/8" difference along the ceiling line, especially when the movie is playing and the room is dark. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

Dear Jay,

Since you have an electric retractable screen it is very important the screen housing is mounted true and level.

When the screen is in the down position, the bottom batten bar will seek it own natural level, just like a weight on the end of a rope. If the screen batten is not parallel with the the screen case it could cause the screen to have slight wrinkles. This should be avoided as the wrinkles could set in the farbic over time.

Regards,

Don,

Thanks for the timely reply - I'm going to work on it tonight. I was figuring that to be the case but thought I'd see if there was any slop as it is in our living room. I'll probably be the only one who notices anyway...
