After much research I think I am down to similar priced 52 inch LCDs. I am torn between the Samsung LN52B550 and the Sony Bravia KDL-52S5100. I feel that i cannot go wrong on either model. Light reflection is not an issue and I will use the TV the mainly for movies and sports in my basement. All the reviews I have read have been very favorable to both. Anybody have a preference for one or the other and why? Thanks for any replies.

Advantage Samsung...I give Samsung the edge on appearance... it's a great looking screen. The Sony's nice, but the bezel on the B550 is pretty cool.

Advantage Sony... If you will be viewing SD closer than 9-10ft, I would go with the Sony. The Sony offers a better SD picture; the Samsung's SD picture quality while although not bad, does not look quite as good as the Sony. With my LN40B550, when I sit 7ft or closer, SD is disappointing.. not all SD programming but FX, TNT, USA and a couple others; other SD channels look more than acceptable. Maybe Comcast is to blame...

If I had to do it all over again... I'd buy the Sony.
