Hi all! It's coming down to the wire here on a sub upgrade. Please help me choose.

1) Budget: $650 max out the door cost

2) Size requirements: None

3) Room Dimensions:
Office/Home Theater Room
L: 18.18'
W: 9.3'
H: 7.6'

Total of about 1320 cubic feet

Viewing distance ~8 feet

4) Primary Uses: Home Theater: 80% / 20% music

5) Listening Habits: I want a sub I can feel thump my chest! I normally run between 85-95 dB listening volume and add +3 db on my subs. I like the tight musical bass of my sealed subs but don't get much punch at all. Maybe I should go +6 dB?

6) Appearance Reqs: I don't care, it's in my dedicated office / HT

7) Timeframe: None really accept looking at B-stock and used which when they are gone are gone.

Subwoofers I'm considering in no order with out the door cost

Hsu VTF-2 mk5 (B-Stock): $534

Monolith 10" THX Select, vented (new) : $538.99

Outlaw Audio Ultra-X12 (b-stock): $639

B&W ASW750 (USED): $350
Old high dollar sealed 12" B&W. Good review of it here: https://www.kenrockwell.com/audio/b-w/asw-cdm.htm
Says ASW-CDM and ASW-750 measure the same.

SVS SB-2000: $645.72

Four VBSS and an amp...

That’s definitely going to come out to above $650, but I do like the idea.

Perhaps two VBSS’s and an amp could be done with a $650 budget, room for two more down the line.

If not DIY, a VTF2 would be your best choice.

If i could get the Outlaw Audio for $499 would that change your opinion?
For me, no. Both subs will perform similarly but I'd rather deal with HSU from a CS perspective.

HSU VTF2 MK5 for better overall output(1-2dB)

Outlaw X12 for better finish/build quality and more reliable amp(you rarely if ever hear of any failures)

They both have near identical response/output

Thanks everyone, I was able to get the HSU as a C-Stock for $398. Its a steal if you ask me for a moderate dent.
