the kids tv is too loud. how can i fix/rig/break it so that it's not so loud but they can still hear it. is there a govenor so that i can set the max and maybe a code so they can't change it?

i am so not a techy. please keep it simple for me.

Most volume controls are calibrated. Tell your kids that if they exceed level 6 (for example) and you have to come turn it down, they'll lose the TV for a day.

There's a maximum volume option on your receiver assuming you have one. I have mine set just in case I get too intoxicated and turn my system too far up.

-8 is the highest I let my receiver go usually.

You can also set up so that your receiver always turns on at a certain volume. After waking up and putting some music on to get ready to only to be greater with 0 on the receiver level for volume I learned my lesson.
