Hey all,

I just got a Denon AV-3808CI, my first 7.1 setup, and I had a question about DPLIIx. I understand what it does with 5.1 input, or even 6.1 input, but what is it supposed to do if it actually gets 7.1 input? Does it pass it through directly, or attempt some weird processing first?

I know there aren't many 7.1 sources yet, but there ARE a handful, and I suspect that the number will only grow. Obviously, I can just turn off DPLIIx with a 7.1 source, but it'd be SO much easier if the spec is "smart" enough to handle it.

Thanks...

Nothing. Your receiver shouldn't allow you to apply PLIIx to a 7.1 signal. So if it is already in PLIIx mode, it should automatically switch out of that mode when a 7.1-channel signal is detected.
