Dragon Age!

I hope it's better than Sacred 2. (I sold my copy of Sacred 2)

I'm really aching for a NEW 360 Baldurs Gate/D&D Heroes/Gauntlet game.

Has anyone seen a console version of this game? All I've seen have been what I've assumed to be PC screens. If DA:O on console is more like the PC versions of Baldurs Gate then there will be little semblance to the console version of BG, they were quite different.

Yeah, this is not going to be like the old Baldurs Gate game for xbox. This is going to be like the old Baldurs Gate game for PC, which is not an action game. The trailers they show with the stupid Marylin Manson song make you think it's a different type of game. EA is advertising to the wrong people, I think.

Looks like we have a release date and a lot of info on it at Amazon. I am looking for a D&D fix that isn't made by Bethseda. Oblivion was cool but I much preferred Fable II. I'm thinking this fits somewhere in between them.

I still think my best RPG fantasy days were with the old school gold box AD&D games from the 80s like Pool of Radiance and Azure Bonds. I'm hoping this is a evolution of those - Neverwinter Nights but better !!!

Anybody got their eye on this one?

This is definitly going to be a day one for me. I love AD&D type games and I loved Mass Effect so I have high hopes.

I have less high but still some hope for Risen as a dungeon crawler too. Plus I know someone that said Sacred wasnt that bad so I may have to go back for that one.

I don't understand why everyone is comparing this game to Mass Effect. Don't get me wrong, I bought my 360 for Mass Effect, it was an incredible game, but this seems more like the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance games for PS2 to me. Without multiplayer unfortunately
. I can't wait for this game...I'm thinking able canceling my PS3 preorder for a 360 copy since the PS3 version is coming out later and I'm a bit worried since they're having trouble programming for it that it'll be lesser quality.

Its made by the same company as Mass Effect and it looks like they took some of the good tech they developed in Mass Effect like the conversation tree. That is from the limited video I have seen of it. Since I had already put this game on my list as a MUST I am trying not to get too spoiled on it.

I've preordered this w/ the strategy guide. I need to have this. Sometimes a game w/o COOP or MMO roots is good - I won't get left behind when I have to leave it alone for awhile and nobody will get upset w/ me regarding my availability. Looks like a great title to spend a lot of the winter months in front of.

Game Informer just had another small write up on this. Generally speaking, they are having a ton of fun w/ it and seem very positive on it.

Makes sense - its Bioware after all. I haven't read anything to make me not want this so far.

Bioware had me at "spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate". If Dragon Age is half as good as it's predecessor than it'll still be great. But I'll most likely be buying Dragon Age for the PC.

I'm kind of worried about this game. The E3 showing was horrible. They kept showing off the gore and sex and bad dialogue like it was some kind of third rate bodice ripper. If this game truly was meant to be the "spiritual successor" to Baldur's Gate, they should be showing off the stuff that makes it so.

Still, we will see.

I mean the combat (and I suppose the way everyone seems to have blood splatter all over them during the dialog sequences in the the preview videos).

Oh. Just not into blood?

Hadn't thought about it but now that you mention it there is lots of blood. A quick search on the Bioware forum wasn't definitive but a developer mentioned a blood/gore toggle in the past so it is at least being considered. I'd bet there will be some setting but it probably won't turn everything off, just lessen the flow
